Hacking On Wipro; Hackers Use The Company's Systems To Attack Their Own Customers

Wipro is investigating some reports that suggest that their IT systems have been hacked; It is possible that the compromised systems are being used to launch cyber attacks against some of the clients of this company.
The reports indicate that some of the customers of the IT services company detected malicious network recognition activities communicating directly with the Wipro networks. It is estimated that at least ten or twelve companies have been affected.
Although Wipro took some time to establish a position on this incident, he finally published a statement mentioning: "Our internal processes are really solid and our security systems are the most advanced to prevent and detect various attempts at cyber attacks."
According to specialists in computer forensics, the attack would have originated in the company's email server , so Wipro is already preparing a new private-use email network. For the time being, potentially affected users are being informed of the situation.
Spokespeople for the company have maintained communication about the most recent updates on this incident: "Derived from a complex phishing campaign , we have detected anomalous activity in the accounts of some employees in our internal network".
Experts in computer forensics mentioned that, as soon as Wipro's security teams detected the unusual activity, they began a process of investigation, identifying the potentially affected users and implementing the relevant incident containment measures, mitigating the risk of spreading to other parts of the company's systems.
The company's spokespersons add that Wipro is trying to leverage its experience as a leader in the implementation of best cybersecurity practices in collaboration with a wide range of industry partners to continue gathering information and perform advanced monitoring activities against cyber threats, protecting the integrity of the company's systems.
